Hello Friends,
A while back I held a Yeasted Donut Workshop, it was SO fun. The attendees asked all sorts of questions and let me know other types of donuts they were looking for. We talked about beignets and french crullers, cider donuts.
After class I had a little extra dough and some apples that needed eating and I started playing around with an apple fritter recipe
I mean the oil was already out and hot…. why not?
Friends, it had been WAY too long since I’d had an apple fritter. What a fall treat!!
These fritters feature a brioche style dough mixed with shredded crisp apples and warm spices. They are so easy to shape and I love the way the glaze settles into the “cobbled” dough pooling in all the right places.
Someone here is going to ask me a question about air fryers.
So… yes of course you can put this in your air fryer. It won’t be a “fritter” as it’s not fried but it will be a lovely apple breakfast bun. I wouldn’t turn it down.
Someone else is going to ask my why I’ve been on a donut kick lately? I don’t know but aren’t you glad? What should my next food obsession be???
I don’t know if this is a democratically run newsletter but let’s see what you think!
Enjoy the fritters and Happy Baking,
Rachel
