Can this be made without sugar for a more savory option?
I’ve made it with ham and Gruyère it was lovely! I still used the 1 TB of sugar in the batter as it contributes to the structure and browning but didn’t dust any sugar on top. I’ve also added herbs in the batter and that worked beautifully
