This recipe needs little introduction, yeast donuts, quite possibly coffee’s best friend. I do hope that you have a gluten-free donut shop near you that lets you pop around the corner for a yeasty ring of sweetness - I don’t have one in my neighborhood yet- hence the recipe.
says that Dunkin’ Donuts “takes two of life's greatest pleasures—coffee and donuts—and renders them unfit for human consumption” so… maybe we aren’t missing out on much?In case you’re like me and need a little yeasty companion for your cup of joe or a donut to take along to “donuts with grownups” I have a recipe that is a welcome diversion from baked cake donuts. (Don’t get me wrong- I ❤️those too)
These classic yeasty rings can be glazed or frosted, tossed with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar, you can make them into tiny donut holes or even fill them.
This dough has one simple step before creating the dough that ensures a strong but soft interior that can stand up to frying (or yes - air frying) and filling without falling apart.
