Hello friends,
Sometimes you just need a big soft breadstick.
This twisty cheesy garlic wonder falls in the “endless breadstick” realm, or perhaps the kind offered at your local pizzeria.
It’s puffy, soft, and so comforting. The ones pictured were eaten so fast by my kids and their friends I couldn’t even manage to save one for my husband!
These would be off the chain dipped in marinara, or as I lived on in my early days in restaurants, when I couldn’t really afford groceries, creamy salad dressings.
Serve them alongside soup or salad or if you’re ready for a carb coma, with pizza.
I have you shape them after a 20 minute rest, but they rise all at once in their breadstick shape, which really makes this super easy to handle and pop into the oven.
I’ve flavored them simply here with garlic and parmesan, but pesto breadsticks or herb breadsticks would be lovely, feel free to experiment.
The key to their lovely fluffy interior lies in the high heat of the oven. The fluffiness comes from the “oven spring” so make sure you give your oven a good 10 minute preheat, don’t rush this part!!
Happy Baking,
Rachel
